Lots More Stuff

I'm just trying to recover some of the things I've done over the years here. This isn't supposed to be flashy yet. Consider it documentation.

This series was shot June 23, 2002 on the day Lois bought the first bicycle of her adult life. It is a Giant Cypress DX purchased from Wheels of Wellington just west of West Palm Beach, Florida. We still have it, but it is more in danger of loosing miles to a drained bicycle computer battery than to turning over the odometer. That day, purchase complete, we packed it on the rack and drove to John Prince Park in Lake Worth. We did 10 miles and neither of us could believe we had ridden that far See the series.
On Saturday, May 21, 2000, we boarded the Holland-America Lines' brand new ship, the Zaandam, for a cruise to Nassau, Bahamas; San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Half Moon Cay, a private island owned by the line in the Bahamas. See the series.
On Feb. 22, 2002, Lois and I almost had a bicycle trip to Marathon in the Florida Keys. We got there with our bicycles, but the weather failed to cooperate. That day, a Saturday, we spent in the hotel room while a storm raged outside. Sunday dawned very windy, but we managed to do a very blowy ride out the old Seven Mile Bridge. If you are ever in Marathon, stop by the Seven Mile Grill. Wonderful blueberry pancakes. See the series.
It must have been our first year together. I took her to Charleston, one of my favorite cities in the world. It's not like New York or Paris or London, big cities full of bustle as well as history. It is more like New Orleans. There is both history and bustle, but history matters more. And there is good cooking going on that they have to import in places like New York. See the series.
Here is a photo site I was putting together a while back. Since I don't like the way it was turning out, it is here just as a historical reference. I plan to create something better looking with these pictures when I get time. View the site.
